By default, setting an assessment through Manage Class Assessments will set it for your whole class. But you might not always want every student sitting the same assessment. For example, if you teach a multi-stage class, or you only want a handful of students to complete a specific assessment.
This article walks you through two ways to do this:
Setting an assessment for a group of students (e.g. everyone except a few)
Setting an assessment for one individual student

Use this method when most (or all) of the class needs the assessment, but you want to exclude a few students.
Navigate to Manage Class Assessments
Select the SET toggle next to the assessment you'd like to assign
Click the title of the assessment to load it into your main class view
In the class view, toggle off the SET option for any students you don't want to sit the assessment. Repeat this for each student you'd like to exclude, everyone else will remain set.
The assessment is now set for the whole class except the students you toggled off.
Setting an Assessment for an Individual Student
Use this method when only one or two students in the class need a particular assessment
Navigate to Manage Class Assessments
Click the title of the assessment to load it into your main class view
Then select the SET toggle for the students you'd like to set the assessment for
