Context
In 2025, Australian schools must report a single overall Mathematics score for students, aligned with the curriculum following Department of Education guidelines.
We've introduced a new way to capture this through Essential Assessment, cumulating our strand-based data for individual student results to generate an overall Mathematics score.
Generating a Mathematics score
Navigate to your class and select a student's name.
Scroll to the bottom of the student profile to locate the line graph showing student performance.
In the line graph section, click on the dropdown menu to select the most recent curriculum.
This will be Numeracy F-10 (V2.0) for Victorian Curriculum users, Mathematics F-10 (V9) for Australian Curriculum Users, or Mathematics K-10 for NSW Syllabus users.
Tick Curriculum Average to generate an overall score, and untick Strand Average to focus on the cumulative Mathematics result.
The grey line displayed represents the cumulative Mathematics score across all assessments for each semester.
This result also tracks student progress over the length of their subscription to Essential Assessment.
