How can I enable audio support with my classes?

Audio support is automatically provided when setting Mathematics Assessments within Essential Assessment. The Audio Support function provides students with a speaker icon next to their questions, allowing them to have the question read aloud.

Audio Support is not automatically enabled for English assessments. You can enable Audio Support if you feel it is necessary for your individual students or your whole class, as this support may be required as a learning adjustment for some students. Each question in the assessment is linked to a content descriptor, and the questions do require the ability to read, process, and comprehend. Audio Support is available to help reduce cognitive load for students.

To enable Audio Support for Literacy, click Manage Class Assessments.

Scroll down to English and click the speaker with the curved lines to turn Audio Support on for your whole class. Click the speaker with the x to turn it off.

To enable Audio Support for individual students, click Manage Class Assessments and load the desired assessment to your main screen.

From here, click on the student you would like to enable the Audio Support for.

Click the speaker to enable Audio Support. Audio Support is off if the speaker has an x next to it.

You will need to enable Audio Support for individual students each time you set a new assessment.

It is also recommended that you note a dated learning adjustment in the ASSESSMENT HISTORY section as a record of the adjustments being made for that student.
