Managing mid-assessments and post-assessments

Once students have completed their pre-assessment, you can enable the mid-assessment and post-assessment. Mid-assessments are only available for General All and NSW Common Grade assessments. They are not available for sub-strand or topic assessments, or NSW Units of Work.

Enable a mid-assessment and post-assessment

To enable a mid-assessment or post-assessment for all students, click Enable and then Enable MID/POST.

To enable a mid-assessment or post-assessment for an individual student, you can click the + icon.

You can also click on the student and click ENABLE.

You will be able to see if an assessment has been enabled for a student if the clock icon is showing.

To ensure that the assessment is viewable to the student, please check that the Assessment toggle is set to IS ON under Assessment Options and that the toggle has been switched to SET under Manage Class Assessments.

Turning off a mid-assessment or post-assessment

If you have enabled the mid-assessment or post-assessment but do not want your students to do the assessment, you can turn the assessment off in bulk. To do this, click Enable and then Clear MID/POST.

If the assessment has a plus icon, the assessment is not enabled. If the assessment has a clock icon, the assessment has been enabled.

Skip a mid-assessment

You can skip the mid-assessment if you want your students to go straight to the post-assessment. Click Enable and then SKIP MID/POST.

If you would like some students to complete the mid-assessment and some students to skip it, click on the individual student and click SKIP MID.

Assessment Options

The Assessment Options drop-down allows you to set different conditions for the assessment. To turn them on, switch the toggle to IS ON.

Student Access

This function allows you to switch the assessment to viewable or hidden from students.

Weekend Snooze

The Weekend Snooze function locks assessments and learning apps during the weekend, so students are unable to access them.

Dynamic

The Dynamic Assessment function adjusts the difficulty of an assessment while the student is completing it. As the student answers questions, the system detects whether the content is too easy or too hard and shifts them into a more appropriate level.

Fixed Question Order

The Fixed Question Order function enables you to assess your students against the same questions as they appear in Teacher-Led Support Mode. Fixed Question Order is automatically turned off when Dynamic Assessment is turned on.

Assessment

The Assessment function allows you to switch the assessment to viewable or hidden.

Reflection

The Reflection function allows students to self-reflect on their assessment performance. This provides you with insight into your students' learning disposition during the assessment.

I Don't Know Yet

The I Don't Know Yet function allows students to choose this option instead of providing an answer they are not confident in answering. This option provides more accurate data, as guessing within the assessment will skew the result.

Sketch Pad

The Sketch Pad function allows students to use a sketch pad during their assessment so they are able to write down their working for each question.

Show Results

The Show Results function allows students to view their assessment post-submission. Choose either the Level, Percent or None option for how your student views their results.

Allow Students to download Learning Goals

This function allows students to download a PDF of their Learning Goals.
