How can I download a paper-based assessment?

Paper-based assessments are available for our pre-assessments and post-assessments. They're not available for our mid-assessments and topic assessments. Paper-based allows you to assess your students if they are unable to use an online device.

Downloading paper-based assessments via the Curriculum tab

Click the relevant Curriculum/Syllabus tab to view the Summative and Formative Assessments that are available to download.

Click on the assessment you want to download, then click on the desired level. Choose either the Assessment option to download a blank assessment or the Answers option to download the assessment with the answers.

The current NSW Syllabus doesn't have paper-based assessments avaliable to download.

Downloading paper-based assessments via a student account

Click into a class and click on a student.

From here, click the Download paper assessment button.

Downloading paper-based Flexi-assessments

You're able to download paper-based Flexi-assessments for the New Syllabus. Click into a class and click Manage Class Assessments.

From here, click the Flexi-assessment to load it to the main screen.

Click on a student profile and then click Download paper assessment.

Uploading data for a paper-based assessment

Once a student has completed their paper-based assessment, you can import it back into Essential Assessment.

Firstly, grab the ID number for the assessment, which can be located in the top left-hand corner of the assessment.

Click on the class the student is in and then their name.

From here, click Enter paper assessment results.

You will then be prompted to mark each question the student got correct.

Data will be presented the same way as if the student completed the assessment online. Underneath the range, you will be able to see a paper-based icon to identify that the assessment was completed on paper.
