Paper-based assessments on Essential Assessment
Paper-based assessments are able to be generated for certain assessments including strand assessments and Flexi-assessments. The availability of paper-based assessments depends on the Curriculum/Syllabus that your school uses.
Downloading paper-based assessments
Select a class, and identify a student with the range of assessment you would like to export. Use the drop-down menu if required to adjust the range accordingly.
From here, click into the student profile and select the pen and paper icon to download the assessment.
If no paper-based icon appears, the paper-based version of the assessment is likely unavailable as it may still be under production by our Content team.
If an assessment has already been completed, there will be no option to download it from the student profile.
You can view what assessments have paper-based available or download assessments that have already been sat by consulting the Curriculum tab at the top of the dashboard. This will be named according to the Curriculum/Syllabus that your school uses.
Uploading data for a paper-based assessment
Once a student has completed their paper-based assessment, you can import it back into Essential Assessment.
Firstly, grab the ID number for the assessment, which can be located in the top left-hand corner of the assessment.
Click on the class the student is in and then their name.
From here, click Enter paper assessment results.
You will then be prompted to mark each question the student got correct.
Data will be presented the same way as if the student completed the assessment online. Underneath the range, you will be able to see a paper-based icon to identify that the assessment was completed on paper.
