How do I access Numeracy Progression data?

As students start completing assessments on EA, their real-time Numeracy Progression data will start to grow. This can be conveniently viewed and exported.

In this article:

Viewing class data

Navigate to a class and click on View Class Results.

Hover over the relevant strand heading and select Numeracy Progression.

Each sub-element available for the Numeracy Progression data will appear. You can toggle between these by clicking between them.

To view class summary data, hover over the top row. This will provide the indicator statement and a list of corresponding students.

Blue shows a student has developed an indicator. Yellow shows a student has not yet achieved it.

Teachers can use this data to plan appropriate warm-up activities for a class.

Viewing individual student data

You can hover over data at the individual student level to identify individual goals for students.

If the student requires explicit teaching of a particular indicator, it will be represented with a yellow dot as their potential for growth.

This individual data supports teachers in creating specific learning goals for Individual Learning Plans for particular students in their class.

Once students have demonstrated most indicators within a progression level, a box will appear around it.

Exporting data

Navigate back to the top of the page and click Export Options. There are currently two options available.

These are formatted as spreadsheets (.xlsx).

Whilst we acknowledge that ALAN requires educators to assign a variably scaled response, at Essential Assessment our professional results are presented in two formats: developed and potential.

This provides educators with the opportunity to triangulate student data, drawing on both assessment results and professional judgment, to make an on-balance decision.

We’re aware that PLAN2 V3 scales do not align currently with EA scales, and we're working to address this issue. In the meantime, we suggest using teacher observations in conjunction with our potential progression scale, to help determine an appropriate allocation on the PLAN2 V3 scale of not assessed, demonstrated and partially demonstrated.
